چکیده

Due to their general and robust formulation deformable models offer a very appealing approach to 3D image segmentation. However there is a trade-off between model genericity, model accuracy and computational efficiency. In general, fully generic models require a uniform sampling of either the space or their mesh. The segmentation accuracy is thus a global parameter. Recovering small image features results in heavy computational costs whereas generally only restricted parts of images require a high segmentation ac-

Multiscale Multiphysic Mixed Geomechanical Model for Deformable Porous Media Considering the Effects of Surrounding Area

Porous media of hydro-carbon reservoirs is influenced from several scales. Effective scales of fluid phases and solid phase are different. To reduce calculations in simulating porous hydro-carbon reservoirs, each physical phenomenon should be assisted in the range of its effective scale. The simulating with fine scale in a multiple physics hydro-carbon media exceeds the current computational ca...

A 2D Moving Grid Geometric Deformable Model

Geometric deformable models based on the level set method have become very popular in the last several years. To overcome an inherent limitation in accuracy while maintaining computational efficiency, adaptive grid techniques using local grid refinement have been developed for use with these models. This strategy, however, requires a very complex data structure, yields large numbers of contour ...

Shape from silhouette using topology-adaptive mesh deformation

We present a computationally efficient and robust shape from silhouette method based on topologyadaptive mesh deformation, which can produce accurate, smooth, and topologically consistent 3D mesh models of complex real objects. The deformation scheme is based on the conventional snake model coupled with local mesh transform operations that control the resolution and uniformity of the deformable...

An Efficient 3D Deformable Model with a Self-Optimising Topology

Deformable models are a powerful and popular tool for image segmentation, but in 3D imaging applications the high computational cost of fitting such models can be a problem. A further drawback is the need to select the initial size and position of a model in such a way that it is close to the desired solution. This task may require particular expertise on the part of the operator, and, furtherm...
